I could have been a Zillionaire by now

<sarcasm>If only I have all the time to answer all the emails telling me that I’ve won a jackpot or something, I could have been a millionaire billionaire zillionaire by now. And they kept on pouring in. I must have been the luckiest person in the world</sarcasm> I could have also even beat Warren Buffett who top Forbes.com list of The World’s Billionaires. Too bad I’ve deleted some of the emails for more proof.

Anyway, these emails remind me of the Francswiss fiasco two years ago. Francswiss is an exposed online investment Ponzi scheme. Initially, you’ll invest $1,000 in their site francswiss.biz and it will have a return of 3-5%(not sure) daily. It could even reach as high as 1o% if the investors recruited two more people. Upon hearing this, I had a gut feeling that this is a scam. Why would your money gain as much as that everyday? Where the heck did they get it from?

A lot of my officemates were drawn in this scheme. Unfortunately, most of them loose their money. Only a handful got their money back with a little interest. Here are some of the stories.

My friend and his husband invested their money that was supposed to be for a motorcycle of the hubby. Now, the hubby is mad at my friend for the wasted investment. He could have own the motorcycle now if they didn’t invest in Francswiss.

One of my officemates often monitors the stock market thinking that this Francwiss is the real deal. He only got 1/4 of his money back.

My friend’s mother and father was suppose to visit her. So she invested in Francswiss thinking that when they got here, she would already accumulated a hefty sum for her parent’s trip. Now she had to loan money from the bank just to sustain her parent’s visit.

The worst was, an officemate borrowed a large amount of money to invest three days before Francswiss shutdown. Now, she has to pay for the investment which only virtually existed. I really feel bad for her.

These ponzi site scheme has professional designed website. That makes them look more real. Anyway, they didn’t foole me. I know there is no such thing as easy money. When there is, it’s a scam. I know Im not telling you on how to make money but how not to loose money online

How to spot scams

  1. They sound too good to be true
  2. They end up in your spam folder in your email
  3. They give you more than you asked for
  4. If you’ve won in a contest/lottery/sweepstakes, they ask you to do something from you first before you get your prize like money and goods
  5. They will ask for your personal information like bank account, password or credit card access
  6. Someone has just died and you are the one who can only help a person get his inheritance. You do not have any idea who the hell they are
  7. Some is asking you to get their money in bank from far far and away land
  8. You are chosen to receive an xxxx amount of money from a person/government that you do not have any idea who the hell they are again
  9. Fast return of investment but you do not know how they operate
  10. Do not be fooled by their professional themed, designed website.

  5. I’m surprised that despite all the negative publicity, there are still some gullible people out there who fall victim to such scheme. Well, there is never a free lunch in this world.
