Make money with banner placement

If you read my September income report, you’ll know that I earned $27 through placing banners on my website. Like I’ve said, on this October I’ll try most of my blog posts to be about how I make money online. There are only a few advertising networks that pays you a good amount for posting their site “banners”, from $5-$15/month. You only need to place them on 3 web pages on your site. Plus, there are sign up bonus ranging from $10-$20.

Many web hosting companies are now offering adsl services as well as search engine optimization and other similar jobs.

To clear things up first, these banners are not actually banners. They are text links that looks like a banner. I was very much surprised when I got the “banner” code arranged in a html table with 4-6 text links. If you are interested to earn something extra for your blog. Here’s what you need to do.

  1. Sign-up for an account
  2. Wait for your site to get approved. Some sites will ask you to submit 3 web pages immediately.
  3. The banner code would be send into your email and implement them immediately on your site

The following are the pros and cons in having these “banners” on your site.

Pros:

  • Extra income
  • You only have to display it on three pages of your site
  • It does not matter if your site has a huge traffic or not.
  • Sign up bonus

Cons:

  • They are not really banners, but they are text links that look like banners. I was quite surprised when I saw.
  • You might risk your page rank because of these banners
  • Google will penalized your site

I applied to Money4Banners last night with my site at Karlonia.com but this morning I received a rejection email that didn’t really give a specific reason (just said “site was unsuitable”). I have a fairly well-established site and no objectionable content that I can see would violate their terms.

I read in a forum earlier today, however, that this program is primarily accepting only .co.uk domains. If that is the case, it could explain the real reason behind the rejection.
