Make money with Wordpress Themes
Even though you do not know how to code a wordpress template nor design one, you could still make money from them. Just like in flipping web sites, you could make some bucks through Wordpress themes. It is not necessary for you to learn how to code or how to design one. What matters is that you have a keen eye on how to spot a good design that can profitable. Here’s what you need to do, if you have completed the following steps, you could get 200%+ return on your investment, really more than the amount that you could actually paid for.
Find a good wordpress theme
You can find a good wordpress theme mostly in forums, not just in Digital Forums and Site Point, there are a lot of good forums to get a wordpress theme as long as there’s a section for wordpress themes. Buy the wordpress themes for $30-$50 range. Make sure you bought the full rights and get the psd file from the seller.
Guidelines in buying a wordpress theme
- Buy a wordpress theme that can be resold
- If possible, it must have a web 2.0 feel in it
- Simple and neat design is a must
- Do not rush into buying cheap wordpress theme
- Make it a point that the theme that you are buying is original
- Think twice before buying a theme
- If you saw a theme that you really really like and it’s proven it’s an original work, go ahead and buy it immediately
- If you really like a wordpress theme, do not let the seller know or else they would ask for more
Flip it
If you bought a cheaper theme and yet you are not satisfied with it, make it look prettier. You could change the site’s color theme and all. Just do anything that you can to make you theme easy and fast to sold.
Make Money from Wordpress Themes
This is where the cash would start to flow in. When your new found theme is now ready to be sold, go back to forums once more and advertise your wordpess theme. You could make money from it by doing the following:
- Sell links - You can sell footer links valued at $50+ each. If you sold 3 links, you will get $150.
- Resell the whole theme - You could sell the whole theme for $80-$100, depending on how much you paid for it and how hard you work on it
Doing this may take less than a week depending on the amount of time you spend on it. Do all of this within a month and you could even get $x,xxx out of Wordpress themes even though you do not know how to design/code one.

Thank you for the suggestions, sometimes I think of buying a new wordpress themes but then i saw a better one and I can’t have any choice, this is really helpful. I’m currently thinking of selling premade wp themes, because you never know someone will buy it.
p.s i have joined your contest, i hope it’s not too late.

I think there is a good market for simple themes that could be used for landing pages. At least I assume there is because I have a need for one and haven’t found anything to my liking!

I already used this trick on 4-5 themes with the exception that I made those instead of buying….but was selling sponsor links in the footer. It was going good unless when people started resenting sponsor links and it was a dead business then.

I’m just beginning to peek at those forums where the full rights for some themes are being sold. It really makes sense to buy some footer links as part of link building exercise if the price is right. However, some better themes are sold pretty fast nowadays.
Otherwise, good idea you have there…

hi. great information here.. one question though,
what do you mean by…
“….Sell links - You can sell footer links valued at $50+ each. If you sold 3 links, you will get $150…. ”
you would sell links and promise them that if one user would download the theme, their link will be added to the footer and will be protected by “do not remove footer link”?
thanks.. just got to your site… great blog. will be here every now and then..
cheers,

Sure looks like reselling is a good money spinner! I like that even though one doesnt know how to code CSS with just a few creative modifications one can add a lot of value.
It is not clear how one can sell footer links? Only very popular blogs can sell at that rate ($50 per footer link). I can understand selling the whole design.
I am curious did you design your own theme for this page??

Have you seen sites with links on the footer like, Designed by Health Website | Diet Tips | Dog Training? The owner of the template sold the footer links permanently of their template.
Personally, I wouldn’t want my template to contain those footer links at all
