In this post I’m going to give you a little bad habit that I have. I call it the overwhelming effect. What happens is that I get overwhelmed with a project although it’s more like overthinking. For example, I’ve been very busy over the past few weeks and haven’t had time to work on Blogging For Scratch, this has made all my plans for the site kind of fade away. Now as I try to get back into the groove I realize that there is so much to do that I don’t know where to start. At this point I get frustrated many times and just forget the project. This time, however, I’m going to go another route and re-think my strategy and launch a second attack to rejuvenate this site.
To help me keep track of what my plans are and to help me to force myself to go through with the plans I’m going to post a few bullets here. This will help motivate me since I already made my plans public I feel obliged to get to work on them.
- Re-structure site, although the current structure seemed good at the time I feel that it really hurts the overall experience for the reader. A blog should allow the reader to read new posts easily and the featured post segment doesn’t do a good job of doing that.
- Re-design, you may be thinking why I want to re-design so quickly. Truthfully, the last design was on the right path but I never quite finished. I will use elements from that design, re-arrange things and come up with the new theme.
- Update pages. I need to update the different pages that the site has including the about and advertise pages.
- Remove expired ads, empty ad blocks. I really don’t want to pursue and advertisers at the moment because I feel the site needs a whole lot of work and I want that to be my main focus right now.
There are a lot more updates that I want to make but I have a good start so this will get me started, I’ll update you as I go along.

Its been a long time since I visited this site. This site was the kick starter for my blog,I always wanted to start a good blog but never did due to laziness. But,suddenly out of nowhere I won the 3rd prize of this contest held by the former owner of this site
http://www.bloggingfromscratch.com/contest-winners-and-some-announcements/#more-254
I had won 2 banner ads and 1 blog roll link,and 1000 ECs.Wow!
Only after that, I started the blog and joined EC and what I couldn’t do in months was did in less than a week!
But sadly, due to fate I couldn’t receive any of the prizes….but,I was happy of how my blog came around.
The topic “Overwhelming Effect” made me think of my blog’s birth suddenly. My heartily wishes for the new look and for your success

I think that you are doing the right thing with the redesign. It will be alot of work, but you are right, it will make your project more appealing and user friendly. Good Luck. Also, quick question, I’m looking for info on Clickbank. Have you tried it at all. If so, let me know at my site. It would be greatly appreciated. There is a group of us investgating their programs.
Best,
Brandon

Regarding the first two bullet points, I think this blog is quite user friendly as it is and at the same time provides good content. I have seen so many blogs that are just littered with so much redundant stuff that it turns off readers. Thank you.
