My Make Money Online Chronicles

September Income Report and Updates

I’ve been terribly busy this month of September because of my career. <excuses>This September, I finished the Cisco curriculum and took the CCNA exam. I’m so glad I’ve passed. I also spent two weeks teaching CSS.</excuses>Too little time and so much to do.

Blogging Goals update

I was looking at my September goals and most of them were not met. These were my September goals:

  1. Make at least 2 Case Study series. - I’ve only posted one.
  2. 80 RSS subscribers. - My current subscriber is now 115. It’s good to know that people did not unsubscribe into my blog even though I rarely posted this month
  3. Decrease Alexa rank into 400,000. - My Alexa rank is now 280,334 down from 661,715. That’s almost 200% increase
  4. 200 Unique visitors/day - I managed to get an average of 67-68 uniques everyday. I hope to bring this figure up this October wherein I would try to write more posts.
  5. Write at least 10 quality articles - I’ve only managed to written eight (8)

Where is this blog going?

All in all, there was a huge increase in my site’s traffic and my email subscribers. I love it! My lack of time to this blog made my not reach my goal no 1, 4 and 5. I’ll strive to do better next time. So, here are my October blogger goals.

What to expect this October

The October month would be basically about more on how to make money online. I’ve already started by teaching you guys on how to make money with wordpress themes. I will talk more about things on what you could possibly do in order to make money online.

Make money with Wordpress Themes

Even though you do not know how to code a wordpress template nor design one, you could still make money from them. Just like in flipping web sites, you could make some bucks through Wordpress themes. It is not necessary for you to learn how to code or how to design one. What matters is that you have a keen eye on how to spot a good design that can profitable. Here’s what you need to do, if you have completed the following steps, you could get 200%+ return on your investment, really more than the amount that you could actually paid for.

Find a good wordpress theme

You can find a good wordpress theme mostly in forums, not just in Digital Forums and Site Point, there are a lot of good forums to get a wordpress theme as long as there’s a section for wordpress themes. Buy the wordpress themes for $30-$50 range. Make sure you bought the full rights and get the psd file from the seller.

Guidelines in buying a wordpress theme

  1. Buy a wordpress theme that can be resold
  2. If possible, it must have a web 2.0 feel in it
  3. Simple and neat design is a must
  4. Do not rush into buying cheap wordpress theme
  5. Make it a point that the theme that you are buying is original
  6. Think twice before buying a theme
  7. If you saw a theme that you really really like and it’s proven it’s an original work, go ahead and buy it immediately
  8. If you really like a wordpress theme, do not let the seller know or else they would ask for more

Flip it

If you bought a cheaper theme and yet you are not satisfied with it, make it look prettier. You could change the site’s color theme and all. Just do anything that you can to make you theme easy and fast to sold.

Make Money from Wordpress Themes

This is where the cash would start to flow in. When your new found theme is now ready to be sold, go back to forums once more and advertise your wordpess theme. You could make money from it by doing the following:

  1. Sell links - You can sell footer links valued at $50+ each. If you sold 3 links, you will get $150.
  2. Resell the whole theme - You could sell the whole theme for $80-$100, depending on how much you paid for it and how hard you work on it

Doing this may take less than a week depending on the amount of time you spend on it. Do all of this within a month and you could even get $x,xxx out of Wordpress themes even though you do not know how to design/code one.

I’m Alive! Link Bomb

Mea Culpa. I am guilty for not posting for weeks in this blog. But I got a valid reason. I spent the time studying for a Cisco Certification exam and I’ve passed. I’m so happy. Also, I was assigned to teach Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) in my work which I find very much fulfilling. It was hard to control myself not to post because I love this blog so much and I got lots of ideas to share.

Without further ado, these are the blog posts that caught my interest.

Another Page Rank Update - Indeed, I got a page rank 1 today. Blogging From Scratch is just three months old so I am happy with this. My other site however experienced a PR drop from 2 to 0. Although the site has a huge traffic, I did not spent some time in ‘link building’ which I am ought to do from this day forward.

Case Study: Quality Traffic Part 2

In our Case Study: Quality Traffic Part 1, I discussed about the quality of traffic that comes from Paid to surf and Search engines. There are a lot of tips in that article and I recommend you to read it. In this part 2 of the case study, I will talk about referral traffics. Referral traffic means your blog visitors that come from other sites to yours. The most common problem with referral traffic that you might come upon is the huge bounce rate statistics to your site. But those can be prevented.
